Welcome to the team Elle Banks

IGA Talent Solutions would like to welcome Elle Banks CertRP into the fold as Senior Account Manager in Technology.

Elle has over 4 1/2 years’ recruitment experience across a broad range of industries and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.

Laura Pearce, Senior Operations Executive at IGA caught up with Elle to find out more about her background and how she has found her first couple of weeks working at IGA. You can read more in the article below.

Hi Elle, welcome to the IGA Family. We’re delighted to have you on board! How have your first two weeks been?

My first two weeks have been really good! I’ve really enjoyed meeting all the different areas of the business and have been lucky enough to have been up to the Leeds office for a few days, the London office and heading over to the office in Winnersh next week. It’s nice to join a company where you meet everyone so quickly! It really helps to give me a good idea of the business, the values and what everyone does to contribute to IGA overall.

What is your background in recruitment and how did you get into the industry?

I lived in Italy until I was 18 and then moved to the UK to start my career, even though I wasn’t quite sure what that looked like for me yet. I wanted to find my 1st office job so I signed up with a recruitment agency to help with this and actually started work with them as a temp in an administrative role. From there I went to junior recruitment trainee and worked my way up to consultant with my own perm and temps desk. It gave me a better understanding of recruitment as it was never something I thought I’d want to go into. It gave me the experience I needed and set me up to be where I am today.

What attracted you to join IGA Talent Solutions? What is different about IGA that sets it apart from other companies?

Out of nowhere I ended up being sat on a table at Ascot Racecourse with Brad Parker, IGA’s Business Unit Manager in Tech and he got talking about IGA and what they wanted to achieve and how they viewed recruitment and how it should be done. This really intrigued me to have an initial conversation to see if IGA could be the company to move to and take my career to the next level.

IGA really values the work/ life balance but really different to how any other company I have worked for say they do. It’s the flexibility of no working hours and actually being trusted to get my work done and be successful. We have the freedom to chose where, when and how we do our work!

What areas of recruitment do you specialise in? What do you enjoy about recruiting into these areas?

My early career was in commercial recruitment, so this covered anything office based. In my next role from there, I recruited for literally anything! This could be engineering, tech, aviation, change – the list goes on! Now I’m at IGA and I head up the infrastructure / architect side of Technology.

I really like the variety of speaking to different people within Tech. It really is so broad, one day I can be speaking with a candidate who works in first line support and then the next day it could be a Head of Infrastructure. It’s good to be working with different levels of candidates. It’s not always about the clients, it’s finding the right role for candidates and finding them the right role for their career, giving them tips and knowledge about the market.

What do you think are the biggest challenges that your clients face within Tech at the moment? How can you support your clients with these challenges and what solutions can you offer?

I think the main challenge in Technology is the ever increasing demands for transformation/evolution and of course the growing cybersecurity/data privacy threats. This means that companies are in constant lookout for experienced talent, people who can add value to their business and ensure they are always at the forefront of the ever evolving technology industry.

I personally believe that by listening to the clients needs and assessing the situation, we are able to offer a solution based on their particular situation and deliver a solution tailored to them.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to do in your spare time.

I speak fluent Italian and like to spend a lot of time out in Italy with family. I spend a lot of time with my friends and with my boyfriend. I really enjoy going for walks and to the gym.
