Welcome to the team Rebecca Gaynor O Carroll

IGA Talent Solutions would like to welcome Rebecca Gaynor O Carroll to the team as an Account Executive in the Change and Transformation team.

Laura Pearce, Senior Operations Executive at IGA caught up with Becca to find out more about her background and how she has found her first few weeks working at IGA. You can read more in the article below.

Hi Becca, welcome to the IGA Family. We’re delighted to have you on board! How has your first month been?

Thanks! The first month has been great. Everyone has been so welcoming. I have had great support from my manager Mark. I got to meet almost the full IGA team when they came to Cork in my second week. It was great to meet in person and get to understand what everyone else does. I also got some great recruitment advice and tips from everyone.

What is your background in recruitment and how did you get into the industry?

My background is in people management in the charity sector. I have managed different homeless and older persons services over the last 8 years. A huge part of people management involves recruitment. During my time in charities I worked on different recruitment drives and this is what sparked my interest.

What attracted you to join IGA Talent Solutions? What is different about IGA that sets it apart from other companies?

I had heard about IGA from a friend. Before interviewing I got to speak with different members of the team. It was very clear from those conversations that IGA has a great culture and really supports their teams. Everyone was so passionate and has a wealth of experience. It was exactly the type of environment I wanted to be a part of.

What areas of recruitment do you specialise in? What do you enjoy about recruiting into these areas?

I specialise in the Change & Transformation of recruitment. With changes in how we work, technology and the market, it’s a very exciting area to be recruiting in. The candidates I speak to are so passionate about what they do and I’ve learned so much from them along the way.

What do you think are the biggest challenges that your clients face within Change & Transformation at the moment? How can you support your clients with these challenges and what solutions can you offer?

In the time I have been in Change & Transformation it’s very clear that there is a lot of choice out there for candidates. There is more flexibility, higher salaries and better work life balance. This naturally makes it more difficult for clients when hiring. IGA offers ongoing feedback and data on the market to clients which is a fantastic resource to have.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to do in your spare time.

I’m originally from Kerry but have lived near and far for the past 10 years. I spent some time in Australia, Berlin & Dublin. I recently moved to Cork with the view to settle here. I have a great group of friends and a big family, so I am always on the go. I love to travel, but a bit closer to home I enjoy a dip in the sea or a wild camping trip. Cork has such an amazing landscape and I am slowing exploring it bit by bit.
