Laura Pearce, Senior Operations Executive at IGA caught up with Olly to find out more about his background and how he has found his first month working at IGA. You can read more in the article below.
Hi Olly, welcome to the IGA Family. We’re delighted to have you on board! How has your first month been?
My first month has been very good! Everyone has been so welcoming and the IGA onboarding process gives you a smooth transition into the business which makes everything so much easier!
What is your background in recruitment and how did you get into the industry?
I have been doing recruitment for almost 7 years now, always tech with a strong focus on software engineering and testing. I got into recruitment as people in my football team who were a bit older than me were recruitment consultants and it seemed like a good opportunity.
What attracted you to join IGA Talent Solutions? What is different about IGA that sets it apart from other companies?
I knew a couple of the people at IGA from a previous employer and had always stayed in touch with them and had a good relationship. IGA matches the ambition I have for my professional career and there is a lot of growth in the business, so I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.
What areas of recruitment do you specialise in? What do you enjoy about recruiting into these areas?
I specialise in software and data engineering recruitment and my main focus is partnering with tech organisations across the US and UK. I enjoy working with a variety of people in this space and usually they are working on interesting technology that can change our everyday life.
What do you think are the biggest challenges that your clients face within Tech at the moment? How can you support your clients with these challenges and what solutions can you offer?
I think the tech recruitment landscape always faces the same challenge and that is finding the right skillset for the job. A lot of the roles I work are niche and there is only a small amount of people who can do these jobs.
My offering to clients is I know how to find, attract and recruit these people and I have an active pool of talent I am always in continuous conversation with, so I can provide candidates within a short space of time.
Tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to do in your spare time.
I am an active person who participates in football and boxing often as well as being regular gym goer.
