IGA Talent Solutions would like to welcome Emily Sergejew CertRP to the team as an Account Manager in the Change and Transformation team.
Emily has almost 3 years of recruitment experience and already having an excellent network within this market, we know she will play a huge part in the Change team going forward.
Laura Pearce, Senior Operations Executive at IGA caught up with Emily to find out more about her background and how she has found her first few weeks working at IGA. You can read more in the article below.
Hi Emily, welcome to the IGA Family. We’re delighted to have you on board! How have your first two weeks been?
My first 2 weeks have been really good! It’s been quite busy, as it always is when you start a new role, but I’ve loved every minute so far! In my first week I went to the London office which was such a beautiful space to work in. I then got to visit the Leeds office at the end of the week where I got to meet the majority of the team, and spend some time out of work with them too. I would say I impressed everyone with my dart skills at Flight Club, but I don’t think they would agree! Everyone has been so welcoming and such good fun, I can tell that moving forward it’s going to be an amazing place to work!
What is your background in recruitment and how did you get into the industry?
I’ve been in recruitment two and a half years. I’ve done lots of different roles in the past, customer service, retail, care work, but recruitment was always something I knew I wanted to get into. I’ve always loved working with people and thrive off of job satisfaction, something recruitment definitely brings when you place a candidate in their dream role!
At my previous recruitment company I dealt with both contract and perm roles, from a whole range of industries. At IGA I will solely be working in the Change and Transformation Team.
What attracted you to join IGA Talent Solutions? What is different about IGA that sets it apart from other companies?
I didn’t really know I was looking for a new role until I was approached with the IGA opportunity whilst at the races! The no strict working hours really attracted me, being able to work flexibly around my family is a dream. The fact that IGA is quite a new company excited me too, I can’t wait to be a part of their growth and see where we can go.
What areas of recruitment do you specialise in? What do you enjoy about recruiting into these areas?
Previously I specialised in a bit of everything! I worked roles in the aviation, retail, tech, design, telecommunications, and change sectors. I am now focusing on just Change and Transformation, which is a sector I have always been interested in. Change is ongoing, the way we work is constantly evolving, something the last 2 years have definitely shown us. Companies will always need these professionals to ensure their transitions go smoothly, and I’m really looking forward to becoming an expert in this field to make sure I am always finding the best people for these critical roles.
What do you think are the biggest challenges that your clients face within Change and Transformation at the moment? How can you support your clients with these challenges and what solutions can you offer?
I would say the biggest challenge clients are facing currently would be how candidate driven the market is right now. There is such a high demand for these sorts of roles, but in what seems to be a shrinking talent pool. I think by taking the time and effort to really build a strong network of candidates, making sure to keep those relationships warm, and by delivering the absolute best talent to your clients, you’re doing the job the best you can do!
Tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to do in your spare time.
I’m a mum of 2 beautiful and crazy girls, that keep me very busy! I love going out for dinner and drinks with family and friends, going to concerts, and doing a bit of travelling when I can. One of my absolute favourite things to do though - is to get in my comfies and binge on a Netflix series with plenty of snacks! Pretty sure most people will relate to that one!
